Greetings,
I have an alignment telescope , left to me by my late husband. I wanted to ask what it is used for and its' value. I have it posted on ebay currently so you can see pictures. Its K&E and in 2 seperate wooden boxes with straps. Very heavy. Its green and silver. Has lenses and assorted parts. He was a photographer, and also flew in Alaska doing mapping, as well as other kinds of building and tinkering. Thank you for your help. rebe@bham.net ( goodthings on ebay)

Here is the link............or if that doesn't work go to ebay.com and put in alignment telscope and see the green and silver scope in the boxes. To be sure its the one I'm talking about my online name is goodthings. There are a couple other alignments telescopes but nothing exactly like this . Thank you very much for taking the time to comment and give me an idea of what these are and their value. Probably shouldn't have listed them yet, but imagine they're not something many people need . Thanks again, Rebecca

Hmm......looks like I have under priced this one. Thanks for checking into this. Do you know what kinds of things these scopes are used for? I'm picturing some closely measured things like maybe placement of specific equipment ?

see:
It's basically the same as an autocollimator, projecting a target that's reflected back into the telescope, wherein you can see the displacement of the reflected image relative to the projected image. This allows you to measure the angular error of the reflecting object relative to the line of sight of the alignment telescope.
