A Florida Power & Light crew, putting in lines for an addition to the Orlando International Airport , found the following in a culvert they were using...

The gator is/was 18' 2" long.
The rattlesnake roundup totaled 87.
We thank Florida Power & Light for sharing these pictures.

That is one BIG MuthAH!!!

Hey Johnie take this tape and go see Fred. He has a job for you. LOL

I was doing testing on that job, the normal animal control guy we used need to call in a few of his "mates" to help with that one. If I recall, the gator was sent to the Jacksonville Aligator Farm and now eats a few hogs a day. That was back in 2000 or 2001 I think.

Do you think that the rattlesnake pipe fill was over the NEC 40% limit?

Woo-hoo. Guess if the inspector came around you could tell him snakes are cold-blooded so they don't produce heat and slipperly so they don't inhibit pulling. Or maybe there's need for a special snake-factor.

That is one gynormous gator. If the gator was sent to a farm (per zogzog), then he wasn't dead. Perhaps just sedated? If that's the case, those guys are pretty friggin brave.

That FPl guy was nuts to be standing right there, the gator was not sedated at all, just some C130 tape around his snout.

Yeah but once you tape his front legs to his back he ain't going anywhere...

You may well be right. But I value my life too much to invest it in volunteering for an experiment on the tensile strength of duct tape. I'm with zogzog... somewhere between pretty frickin brave and pretty frickin nuts!

Yeah, he was nuts to be standing there all right.

A gator half that size could kill you with his tail.
