Hi - i have a plant full of Allenwest MCC's based on the GE 7700 - probably 50 MCC's in all. 30-40 years old now and in need of some attention. I understand Allenwest are no longer trading. Anyone out there gone through a refurbishment of these MCC's? Is anyone in europe supplying new starters for these MCC's. Don't really want to start bringing stuff in from US. Any help appreciated...........

Given that this part of GE is now ABB, I can imagine that they are not going to be terribly interested in supporting old GE gear, but they may be interested in upgrading them to ABB.

I suspect the only sane refurbishment option is gutting the buckets and replacing everything, assuming the structure and bus are in good shape. I can't imagine this would be cost effective. A 30-year old MCC is at the end of life and it will be much better and probably less expensive to plan on gradual replacement.
