Allowable Deflection of a Timber Post

Not sure what the allowable deflection is? I know of the CBC allowable deflections but not sure if it applies to posts.

why is your post deflecting is it connected by moment connections to other structure?

typical deflection limits are based on either comfort / asthetics or if brittle surfaces are attached to the concerned structure then limits on the curvature in the form of span/limit which is to prevent cracking.
 
Lateral deflection of a post may be limited by story deflection sidesway limits, or by the potential to induce end moments that contribute to column buckling load.

No, it does not apply to compression members because of the P-delta effect.
