Hi,

Is there any standard/ guideline to determine the allowable stress for flexible pipeline for subsea?

Is it logical to determine the allowable stress based on assumption of 100% SMYS, SMYS = Specified minimum yield stress

Thank you. Appreciated everyone thought on this.

There are many standards and guidelines, depending on your definition of flexible.

No code or standard I know of uses 100% of SMYS to be the allowable stress. 90% for combined stress is as far as it goes.

Flexible pipe does not have an SMYS in the same way steel pipe does, sk you seem to be mixing different things?

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
