I've done valve calculation sheet according API 6A specification (API 6X and then ASME VIII div.2 2004 Ed.
For bolts material allowable design stress at atmosferic and design temperature it is required to refer to ASME BPVC II-D code.
This code mention A453 Class A and B but there isn't any reference to A453 class D.
A453 class D has high strength value compared to A and B and is often required in so many valve application. I don't think I'm the first in the world facing this problem in valve manufacturers industry.
Has anyone never find any solution finding the maximum allowable stress value for this class of A453 necessary for calculating according to API requirements??
Or there is another way to find allowable stress value for materials not mentioned in ASME BPVC II-D?
