Hello,

Do any of you know an easy method of determining if a sample magnet is cast or sintered alncio? (Without a property check)

Here are a couple of ideas:
How big is the part? As a general rule, smaller parts tend to be sintered while larger parts are cast.

Take an accurate measure of the weight. Sintered Alnico parts are generally less dense than cast.

Send the part out for BH testing.

If you can break your sample magnet apart, do so. The interior of a cast part will be "shiny", showing individual grains. There may even be some porosity. The interior of sintered parts will generally have a dull appearance and there will be no visible porosity.
