I'm not an expert of corrosion, so I've some question about this surface treatment:
I would like to use Alodine 1200 to protect an aluminium alloy (6082-T6) structure that cannot present corrosion for the first 5-6 years of its life. The structure is located in urban environment, Is a good protection for my application?
I cannot use anodizing.

Generally How many years live an alluminium alloy structure with Alodine 1200 in inurban environment before starting the corrosion phenomena?

Regards.

If the aluminum is not in contact with steel, stainless steel, or another metal that is galvanically more noble, then this alloy and coating combination should be ok for 5-6 years. A general urban environment is not very aggressive for even bare aluminum. Things like acid rain, animal waste excretions, and other non-equilibrium conditions can change this, though.
