Alternate Units Display in ACAD 2005?

Hello.

I'm trying to display both metric & imperial units.

Set-up:

- Primary units:
Architectural Centred on Top of Dim. Line
- Alternate units:
Metric Centred below Primary Units.

Problem:
When I set it up, the dim line break between the primary and alternate text. I want the line to continue through both units so it look like one straight line /w Primary text above the line and alte below the line.

I have tryed everything to do this and I'm unable to acheive the desired looks. I was able to do this in ACAD 2000 but not in 2005.

Here is a link to an image of my settings. The bottom one is the desired style with 1 continuous line.

Is this possible to do and if so how do I do it?

Matt,

FORMAT-->DIMENSION STYLES
Select your dimension style and then the PRIMARY UNITS tab

FOR THE SUFFIX ENTER: \X\P

Select the ALTERNATE UNITS tab and select
PLACEMENT: AFTER PRIMARY VALUE

In acad 2005 it acts flaky but this works for me. The only thing I do not like is the distance below the dimension line that it places the alternate units.

Thats no good. This is crap, what kinda thousand $$$$ CAD app not be able to do something this simple.

You don't need to put the extra \P - that is for creating a new line. The \X gets you below the line, although for some reason it won't let me put that in as a suffix to the primary units. If you add a space after it, then it works fine. (I know this worked before, must be a bug in 2005.
So, just to be clear, input for the suffix of the primary unit, \X_ (don't put the underline, that just represents the space)
By the way, make sure you are doing this to the dimstyle.

I'm sorry, I just looked at you image you attached, and it looks like you did only put in the \X to begin with. I'm not sure why it is doing that for you, it works fine here. I am trying to duplicate it though. The only thing so far is if I grip edit the text location, it will create the break. Have you done that by chance? (it doesn't look like it) There must be something in your dimstyle that is different that would cause it to do this.
