Recently I read an older publication from the early 2000's about BASF developing a new way of joining plastic and metal components. They called it "collar joining". here is the link It seems to be a good alternative to heat staking or insert molding metal components. Other than this article and a few others this is all i found on the subject. Has anyone tried this or have any experience with this manufacturing technique? I would like to try this but I want to know what are some of the challenges/limitations associated with it first.
Thank you,
Cameron

Even before that, AMP was going to revolutionize plumbing with crimped metal sleeves.on plastic fittings.

There was something similar whwn PEX arrived but push-ins are much more popular.

Personally, I like to try new stuff that's clever, but I let someone else do the pioneering.
