The rest of the story. This is probably not any help to anyone - but possibly mildly interesting.

I went back to my room today fro lunch. While there I turned on my computer, saw the eng-tips email saying there was a post. I opened it up, say the link and it opened up immediately. So I go back to the office and try it on the company computer - no joy

This is most likely because the URL has been mis-typed or the server is down and no longer taking requests"

The company IT says the site is not blocked??

Don't konw. I'll connect tonight on my machine

And my computer locked up. And I couldn't edit the post to fix the mispellings. So I rebooted. And the post had been sent. And I can't edit it.

I think I'm going close the office door, turn off the computer and lights, and stay quiet for the rest of the day.
