Hello, i am a QC engineer at an aluminium extrusion (window covering systems n profiles) company. Lately, we are having some serious surface problems.
I want to ask especially two of them. So the first is there are some thin aluminium extensions from the surface to air like hair, wire, fiber or something whatever you say. They are being so weak like i can tear them off with my fingers. They cause problems in the painting process. The area where they are located cannot be painted locally. I know that it is normal for this to occur at the ends of profiles with very sharp edge design. But no one knows when it happens on the flat surfaces. Our production unit says it because the raw material but they can not prove ofcourse. We are using 6060 and for some important orders 6063 series aluminium billets as a raw material by the way. So i need help about this case firstly and most importantly, and i guess i need some proof like an academic article if you know one. And i would be very happy if you share it with me.
Second, lately our products contain a lot of superficial burrs. This reduces the surface quality of the product after painting. I see that raw material (billets' quality) and condition of the mold have separate effects, but I do not have clear information. Sometimes, even with the best raw materials and a new mold, the product is produced with only one side full of burrs. I would appreciate it if you could clarify.
