thread338-355431
Hi there,
I bring back a topic I started some time ago (thread338-355431).
We are building a prototype of a cooling shell, the final material selected was aluminum alloy Alu 3.3206 - AlMgSi0,5 - EN-AW 6060
It has a good thermal conductivity, it is easy to machine and it has good corrosion resistance.
Apparently, it is not easy to get in thick plates (blocks). We need 60mm (~2.4 inches)
The supplier company has proposed 3.2315 - AlMgSi1- EN AW-6082
Does anybody have experience with this?
Our first choice has ~25% better thermal conductivity, but I worry more about the corrosion
In the previous post we didn't talk about aluminum types; in the "NACE International, The Corrosion Society (2002). Corrosion Survey Database (COR·SUR). NACE International" these grades are not mentioned
thanks
