HI there !
After using search function, I found different threads concerning aluminum alloys and corrosion.
Nevertheless, I’d like to realize a further step
I’d like to focus on possible galvanic corrosion between different aluminum alloys.
I tried to search in the web but there is not a specifical reference to the different corrosion potential of different aluminum alloys.
My question therefore is as follows:
Is there the possibility of galvanic corrosion when combining two different aluminum alloys: ex series 3000 with series 8000 ?
If there is, is it possible to determine how fast it would be ?

Many thanks

Actually, it is galvanic corrosion within the alloy itself that is possible with Al alloys. Any copper-rich regions are cathodic to the bulk material, which results in localized corrosion.

The potential differences between 3XXX and 8XXX alloys should be small enough to avoid large-scale corrosion problems.

Many thanks !
Please could you send me a link where I can find potential differences of different aluminum alloys ?
As a matter of fact I can't even find a complete one

Thanks

The issue of corrosion between various components of a single alloy is why the age hardening grades tend to have lower corrosion resistance than ones that are solid solution alloys.
