I am useing allowable stress design with the aluminum design manual. The aluminum I am useing is 6063 T5.
I am looking at the bending of a rectangular tube. table 2-22 shows that the lower slenderness limit is 204.
My question is how do they arrive at this #? I have looked at section 3.4.14 and determined the buckling constants Bc and Dc. I then used eq 3.4.14-4 to find S1...needless to say it is not 204. I used Fcy=16ksi and E=10100. If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
