What are your thoughts on using a taper lock as a seal? The inner component has holes that allow fluid to flow between it and the outer housing. The outer housing is threaded onto the inner piece, and as it threads on the bore of the exit hole will hit a matching profile on the inner. The end of the taper on the inner piece is .063" for size reference. Right now the taper angle is 15deg but can be changed. Fluids can be anything but we typically see things like motor oils and cutting fluids. The components themselves would be CNC lathed aluminum. The outer housing will be knurled and should be turned easily by hand (so it will need to seal with minimal torque applied. The fluid is pumped via a small hand pump but the main thing we are trying to achieve is making it so fluid won't leak out while not in use so generally it won't need to hold against much pressure. We are currently making 150,000 a year of our previous design, so assuming that quantity stays the same we want this to be as simple and cheap as possible, hence me trying to avoid using a gasket.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.
