Aluminum VS. Ethanol

Do you ever use aluminum as internal floating roof in ethanol storage tank? Please comment about its corrosion resistance for this application.

Recommended for you

Aluminum would be excellent (< 2 mils penetration per year) at temperatures below 160F. It would not be recommended for temperstures above 200F.
 
Thanks bilge...In several literatures indicate that aluminum will be corroded rapidly in pure ethanol (no water content). The corrosion will be ceased for some water content. However, I don't know about its corrosion mechanism. Can anyone describe or inform me about the references?
