Most commercial alloy wheels are made from aluminium alloy CC601 which is the same as British alloy LM25, or Aluminium Association alloy A356.1.

The wheels are normally gravity cast and heat treated by solution treatment and ageing to achieve properties-
Tensile Strength 274 MPa
Elongation 2.4%

More expensive cars are using squeeze casting to produce thinner walled lighter and tougher wheels with heat treated properties-
T/S 289 MPa
Elong'n 12.5%.
