Hi
I've to design a reactive distillation column to produce methyl acetate with Amberlyst 15 as catalyst. In this way, I need to know some information of this ion exchange resin, mainly its packing density, porosity, surface area, apparent density, ion exchange capacity...

Anyone knows this and/or other properties of this catalyst?

Thanks.

Try contacting the manufacturer, Rohm and Haas.
Is this a school assignment?
Good luck.

Also check with Dow. They have resins that compete with Rohm and Haas. Either company has brochures that give all the properties that you could ever want...and they may even have some data for the production of methyl acetate (I know they did for MTBE production).

Good luck with the reactive distillation column!

Regards,

Bob
