But remember - the dams will never fill again according to the mammologist who is the government's (and the meeja's) chosen authority on climate change.

"Former Chief Commissioner of the Climate Commission, Professor Tim Flannery, ...

In 2005, Flannery predicted that drought conditions would become “permanent in eastern Australia” and that “the rain that comes won’t fill our dams”."

Meanwhile so far as AMOC goes there's this which reckons its variable rather than on a trend

With AMOC... I don't know how feasible it is, but it's out there and the currents have been slowing. It's just one of many possible things that can happen with climate change, and this is one thing that I would never have thought of. I have no idea of where this is going, but the serious consequences can be frightening. We've accomplished in decades what has taken millennia in past.

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Do you feel any better?

Maybe it's Japan's deep ocean turbines slowing it down? It's already documented that wind turbines cause surface temperature warming.

For those of us thermodynamically minded know that temperature and velocity are related. Higher temp is a result of lower velocity

If higher temps are slowing the ocean currents, turbines seem like they would only exacerbate the problem.

La Nina, El Nino. Been happening forever, affecting weather. We did have a traditional wet season, mostly in February, with also above average rainfall in March and May. Now we have the coldest start to winter since 1904 in Queensland. I enjoy the changes in weather.

Get used to the changes, Hokie, there's likely to be more of them... that's why they call it climate change? [ponder]

Yes, and it has always been changing, so I roll with the punches.

There's a cliché for every problem...
