It depends whether you are talking about adding numbers or words together.
For numbers, double click on the top of the column and add an equation. Select the equation symbol. From the Custom pull down, select your Custom Property. Then type in the "+" sign. Go back to the Custom pull down and select your other Custom Property. It should look like this.

`Description`+`DesignerName`

For putting words together, do the same thing but replace the "+" sign with {}. Like this.

`Description`{}`DesignerName`

If you want to add some regular text, just use "".

`Description`{}"Designed By "`DesignerName`

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your help. Got me out of a jam.

Chris,

A star for you. Where did you learn that?

Thanks. A while back my boss asked me to add two custom properties together in our BOM. I rooted around in the SolidWorks Help until I found it.

The adding numbers together was under Detailing and Drawings/Equations in Tables/Defining Table Equations by Mathematical Operations on Custom Properties.

Adding two words together was under Detailing and Drawings/Equations in Tables/Combining Properties in Table Equations.

I will be spending more time around here. I have mostly only posted questions. The last one I didn't get any responses to. It made me think that I should be contributing more. A bit of give and take.

I had the Same question on the Solidworks Forum so i quoted your response. Everyone did not think it was possible. Thanks
again

Chris,

You said, "The last one I didn't get any responses to. It made me think that I should be contributing more. A bit of give and take." If someone knows the answer, they'll give you the answer, providing they don't think someone else can better handle it. There is no martial law justice in effect here.
