I am using an array size of 512 or 1024 channels to address a line speed of 10-2-mhz with individual channel logic of 48Khz with an AM envelope.

I want to be able to time slice 512 48Kilacyle signals into a single trunk line without introducing distortion. Can anyone enlighten me?

As to the second sentence, it is impossible. You will always introduce some distortion at the moment of switching, unless you have an extremely complex switcher.
Example: If you have a very strong oscillator outputing some frequency signal. Let's say pure sinewave. And it is feeding a purely resistive load. If you switch the output to a different, but otherwise identical load, during the switching period you will introduce distortion onto the output of the oscillator. Now, if this is not a problem, then maybe I can help if I better understand what you are trying to do.

I donot suggest you to build 1024 channels switches. it need multi-stage of switches and it will cause a big distortion of the signal. The distortion will accumulate to the last stage and make the output signal very noisy.

1024 coaxial cables will bring you big problem in the cable management. If you not use the coaxial cable, the cross talk will bring more trouble to you.

Also, to generate 1024 signals will need very big space.

I suggest you redesign the system. Some existing technology will make your system very small like frequency hopping and digital signal processing depend on what requirment and what technology you can handle it easily.

In enginnering world, to set up a practical system is the most important work.
