I would like to use the analog output (0-10Vdc) from an AB PowerFlex variable frequency drive, which is already connected to a PLC, to syncronize two pieces of equipment. I would like the speed of the downstream equipment to be controlled by the upstream equipment.

I am not sure what the maximum load specifications on the analog output card is but I suspect that I would need some sort of buffer or multiplexer or some other device to protect both the drive and the PLC from external faults on the interconnecting device and to give a high impedance so that the output board is not loaded.

Any suggestions?

Don't worry - analog output module has enough protection level for direct connection. Twisted pairs can be suggested for noise reduction.
