Analysis Software for Formwork Operations

Hello everyone,

I want to develop a new analysis system for our company, which specializes in formwork operations. Until now, we have been manufacturing based on predetermined standard dimensions and quantities, but I believe it’s time to improve this process.

We are handling medium-scale projects, typically 25-30 stories high and consisting of 5-6 blocks. I have researched various sources and this forum regarding formwork analysis, but I haven't found any truly useful information.

The most suitable software for this analysis seems to be ideCAD, but I couldn’t find any resources explaining how to perform such an analysis using it. Even if ideCAD is not an option, I am looking for a program that can handle multiple parameters, such as:

  • H20 beam spacing and quantity
  • Tie-rod spacing and quantity
  • SRC waler and steel prop quantity
I want a system where I can input the formwork width, height, and length, and based on material-related variables, it should provide the optimal H20 spacing, minimum tie-rod count, and other required components.

I am also considering developing this program myself, but I couldn’t find a comprehensive resource that includes all necessary formulas and variables. Additionally, there are no tutorials or guides on how to model and analyze formwork structures using ideCAD.

Can anyone provide guidance, suggest useful resources, or share any relevant experience?

Best regards.
