Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where I could find the Bearing Area for a 0.5in Diameter Rod or how to calculate it. I am currently doing the Anchor Rod Concrete Pullout strength calcs. I checked AISC Deisgn huide but the lowest is a 5/8in diameter rod. Abrg in ACI 318

Also where do i find the diameter of anchor rod in bearing or the formula. dbrg in ACI 318
Thanks in advance!

AISC 15th p 7-79 has dimensions for high strength fasteners.
The bearing area is the area of the head of the bolt, minus the area of the bolt diameter.
I`d run those numbers for a 5/8 bolt, compare to your table, and then run the number for a 1/2" bolt
