Anchor Thrust for Underground

Do we need to input manually the Full Thrust Anchor for underground Piping as "Restraint: Anchor" (after converting original CAESAR II file into a buried file)?

Yes, but how.
How will you consider the thrust block behaviour in the soil. It has a tendency, due to high concrete weight, to settle day by day.

Pipeliners do not use thrust anchor any more for this reason. Its impact is worst than the benefit. If you need some sort of anchor behaviour, you’d better change the direction of pipeline underground in horizontal using minimum radius at around 10-15D for steel line pipe. This work perfectly with the clay soil, perhaps similar action in the sandy soil in case there is no thermal cycle. Sandy comment may create a lot of discussion between pipeliners that I would not answer.

That's my point. Try and design it to work without an anchor

Anchor in buried piping systems are the very last thing you want to do for multiple reasons. Easy to model, but very difficult to build and often don't do what you think they do.

And all to stop a few mm of expansion.
