I'm looking for thoughts on the appropriate value of Sc for angle leg local buckling in section F10.3 of AISC 360-10. The code gives some guidance for equal leg angles in that Sc is 0.8 times geometric axis section modulus.

But what about for unequal leg angles? Should I be using Sz?

Specifically, I'm looking at an L6x3 1/2x5/16 with the 6" leg up.

Attached is a design example from "Single Angle Design Manual" by Whitney, McNulty, PE. I have not had this very long. It cost $30 from lulu.com and the copyright is 2008. It uses the AISC 13th Edition and the 2005 Design Spec. It is about 130 pages and has lots of examples.
