HOW MUCH ANGULAR DISTORTION ARE ALLOWED IN RAILWAY TRACKS?
WE ARE ENGAGED IN CONSTRUCTION OF UNDERGROUND METRO STATION IN KOLKATA.
OUR CLIENT SPECIFIES A ANGULAR DISTORTION VALUE OF 1 IN 1000, WHICH IS TOO TIGHT FOR US.
WE ARE REACHING ANGULAR DISTORTION 1 IN 600 IN OUR ANALYSIS.
PRESENTLY WE HAVE REQUESTED OUR CLIENT TO ALLOW RELAXATION IN ANGULAR DISTORTION TO 1 IN 500.
ANY COMMENTS PLEASE!!!!

Maybe this is apparent to someone who works in railways, but what angular distortion are you talking about?

Aside from hokie66's correct response, I would get a thicker gage rail from wherever it's made (probably China or India) to maintain the specified angular distortion in the transverse direction.

it could also mean that, when the topside of the rail starts tipping towards each other (they're initially on a 1/20 slope towards each other), it's a sign of degradation of (some type of) ties.
