Good morning everyone!

I'm in the process of putting together a large cabinet assembly that holds two pumps. Eventually, I'd like to make animations showing the doors of the cabinet opening to reveal the working pumps.

To start, I've put together the assembly, complete with the two doors and a hinge assembly that I got from the SW website. There are 4 of those hinge sub-assemblies in my assembly.

The question I'd like to pose right now, since I'm not ready to start making animations yet, is this:

Will I be able to create that animation in the future if the hinge is actually a 2-part sub-assy. OR, will it be necessary to mate the two parts of the hinge in my top level assembly to create the animation?

Appreciate the input.

Also you will have to have the sub-assemblies set to Felxible

Thankyou! Flexible sub-assy's is exactly what I was looking for!

MimiN63,

Another feature that may be helpful to you is using Limit Mates. In your case you can specify a min and max angle that you want the doors to open.

It also makes doing your animation much easier, because you won't accidentally move the door through the cabinet.

Jon
