Hi All,

I am creating a quick layout for some machines to be placed on our shop floor, it is nothing fancy. I am creating the machine footprints in sketcher.

I am identifying the machines by creating an annotation inside the box that represents each machine. Is there a way that I can carry this text directly into drafting?

I am creating the text by Insert >annotation >text >text

I apologize if this is a very simple question and thank you in advance.

Thanks for the quick response solid7.

It appeared you were on a bit of a "holiday" for sometime, glad to see you are back.

I noticed when you do this, it will not let me "modify links" on the view, so that I can only show certain part bodies.

Is there anyway to do this when doing a view from 3D?

My understanding of "modify links" is limited to its use in conjunction with scenes. I have not heard of it being used to filter out part bodies.

We use it all the time (partly because of having models that have multiple bodies in one catpart).

When placing a view in drafting (except for a 'view from 3D') you can select the bodies and/or geometric sets to display in that view. Also can select the axis system to use.

If needed, after a view is placed we can modify its links to add/remove specific part bodies to that view. Comes in very handy for drafting.

OK, thanks anyway. Its not a huge deal, just thought if anyone would know you would be the one.
