Anodizing MIL-A-8625C vs MIL-A-8625D 1

Ok, this may be a silly question but what is the difference between 8625D and 8625C?? Is it just colour...

Stating "Class 2" would define a colored anodize. The "C" and "D" refer to the revision of the stadard for MIL-A-8625.

Also note that 8625B & 8625C are obsolete revisions.

Anodize Class per MIL-A-8625F: Class 1 is non-dyed (natural), Class 2 is dyed.
You must also specify Type: Type I for chromic, Type II for conventional, Type III for hard.
Note: There are also some variants of Types I & II, mostly for aircraft applications.
