ANSI Y.14.5M – 1982 - Tolerances

Hello,

We have a job that requires ANSI Y.14.5M – 1982 tolerances however, we currently do not have that standard in house. What is the tolerances on 1,2, and 3 decimal dimensions?

Y14.5-1982 does not specify the tolerances on your decimal places.
Those tolerances should / shall be specified by/in the title block (of your drawing) or by other company standard (and not by the ASME/ANSI) or company document.

Often drawings are contractual documents and aren't updated just because there is a later version of the standard.

I agree. But, they don't not have internal standards yet. When starting from scratch, why not update?

It is likely for a contract to make a part from an old drawing - from "we have a job."
