Imported my model from solidworks by converting to IGES file, imports fine except only areas and lines are defined, so when I try to mesh it it just says volumes not defined. Also need to use the LINK10 element to act as shrouds on the model which is a sailboat mast. Ive attached the imported ansys model and the soldiworks model. Any tips on how to get it to work would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try importing as another format - either parasolid or step should do the trick if you're able to from Solidworks. IGES is generally a pretty poor format standard for static geometry (in fact it's not even a "standard"), and to my knowledge IGES is only able to deal with 1D and 2D geometry.
