Hello All,
I am a novice with Ansys Mechanical. I have to do a thermal analysis of thin walled composite layer (3 layers in total). Each layer has different material property. The only shell element available is Shell 131/132. Actually I am getting confused with two different scenarios with regards to modelling and defining sections.I am using Ansys 13.0
Scenario 1:
Sections: Defining 3 different sections with different material properties.
Modelling: Modelling 3 layers with Create>Volumes and specifying specific material property and section to specific layer.
Scenario 2:
Sections: Defining 1 section with 3 different material properties and layers.
Modelling: Modelling 1 single rectangular volume and assigning the section to that volume.(But this creates a problem while assigning material to the volume).
Also what contact properties should i use between the layers?
This question may sound silly to all but as i said i am novice to ansys.
Please Help!
Thanks in Advance.
