Hi Everyone,

I'm relatively new to ANSYS and I am trying to model the modal analysis of a sandwich beam. I'm currently using a 2-D approach since the width of my beam is much smaller than the length (18" compared to 1").

I've got the geometry and meshing down...but when I run the modal analysis I'm getting WAY to many natural frequencies.

The analysis involves clamped-clamped conditions, which I have specified by making Ux and Uy at the end nodes equal zero. For my geometry I basically have 3 rectangles that represent each layer of the sandwich beam, and used the "glue" command to glue them together.

Any help would be great as to why I received too many natural frequencies. Or if anyone else has modeled sandwich structures.

Thanks,
Jimbo.
