I am trying to run a basic model in ANSYS of a cantilever beam. What does ANSYS default the values of ALPHA and BETA to if they are not input into the program?

As with all defaults in Ansys chances are if it isn't specified...then it defaults to zero. Damping is not different.

Hi,
correct, they default to zero. Anyway, in static structural damping is unrelevant.

It is not a basic static structural analysis. I am trying to apply a concentrated end load to the beam that has a sinusoidal trend. The P(t) load curve is modeled with the function 4*sin(omega*t). I am new to ANSYS so I am not sure exactly how to apply this type of load. Do I use a harmonic analysis? And if so, how is that type of load applied?
