Hello Everyone,
I am trying to create a conformal mesh between a surface body and a solid. The application is a foam filled thermoformed plastic part.
The idea is that I would model the internal foam as solid elements such as tets or bricks and use shell elements to represent the 3mm top and bottom thermoform plastic walls. Imagine this thing as being a sandwhich.
I have sucessfully in both WB11 and WB12 created conformal meshes between solid bodies by grouping the "parts" together in Design Modeler using the Form New Part functionality. Once the grouped part is transfered to the WB mesher it creates a conformal mesh between the boundaries of the two parts.
However, when I transfer my 3 part model (surface - solid body -surface) to the meshing tool in WB from Design Modeler workbench just halts stating "Plugin Error: No valid Bodies found".
I have been working on this for a couple of hours now and give. Just wanted to know if anyone eles has been able to create a conformal mesh between a surface body and a solid body. I am not that proficient in Ansys classic, but if there is a way to get it done using the Ansys Classic route I am willing to try.
Thanks,
Steve
