hello everybody,
i am new to ansys and have to solve the following problem. In my model, two parts are aligned (see picture attached). There is no fixed connection. Forces can be transmitted only in the normal direction (and there only in the + z direction). Now I want to create a contact, but I dont know which. It is not a bonded contact, and not no seperation contact. The other contacts are nonlinear. I would like to do a linear analysis. I think i have to create an MPC where only the +z direction is allowed and all other translations and rotations are constrained. How can I define such an MPC?? Or ist there any other possibility to solve my problem?
Another question. When i have a joint like an normal pin and a part. The part can rotate around the pin, just normal.(see picture) Do i now define a no seperation contact or do i define a joint, where i define this rotation around the axis? Where is the difference. When i define only the joint, then i don't have the contact condition, but then the pin could move through the part when a force is engaged? Can anyone explain me all types of contacts and the joint thing, thank youuuuuu so much in advance.
