Hi guys,
I am modeling an equipment skid (approx. 9 m x 4m) with tanks and a pump that is to be used somewhere in the dessert.
It isnt bolted to the ground. It's self weight supported on top of the ground which is sand. My question is that since it does not have any fixed or pinned supports.
How should I simulate the ground, i.e. do I 1) use springs at various nodes, 2) elastic foundation or 3) compression only support.
Which would be the most realistic. Any help or other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanx.
A.
