Anti-Splatter Removal Methods?

Anyone here have experience in removing weld anti-splatter from stainless steel in order to paint the weldment?

After using solvent and then power washing areas with anti splatter, the then painted areas seem to leach out the anti splatter and create a fisheye appearance.

You probably need to mechanically polish and passivate. I would try using a green scrubbie, then cleaning and using one of the citric acid passivation solutions.

I agree with Nick, you will need to use some type of mechanical removal process (sand blasting, grinding/polishing, wire wheel, etc.) in order to completely remove the fluorocarbon-based coating.

How about protecting it in the first place so you don't have all this BS??

This was an after-the-fact occurence with a new welder so the BS as you call it has no merit here.
