Hi everybody,

I am going to issue a duty spec. for an anti-foam package for a DEA gas sweetening system. Actually I have the following questions which I need your help:
1. what is the range of antifoam injection in ppm
2. shall I dilute the antifoam. if yes how?
3. what is the criteria for capacity of antifoam storage tank i.e. how many days of reserve.
4. I have heard that the silicon base antifoam can damage the carbon filter (lean amine filter package), if it is so how can I mitigate this issue when using those chemicals.

I am by no means an expert, but please find attached some information on a non silicone defoamer.

Usually small consumers of chemicals are brought to the plant in chemical "totes" by the chemical supplier. Whether the anti-foam is already diluted will be set by the supplier (I doubt it needs dilution).

I would also suggest contacting your supplier of "amine" solution if you are that stage.
