Any Cheap Fractional HP VFD's yet?

I'm talking dinky & cheap! :)

For 1/20 hp & smaller single phase induction motors...
Fan loads.

Something you could plug in the wall, then plug in the motor.

Would a VFD work with shaded pole and PSC motors OK??

Know any company that makes something?

I'm familiar with triac phase shifting control, but was
hoping VFD technology had gotten to point.

You could "roll your own" for about $25 if you don't care about efficiency, overload protection, or any of the other things usually considered. Just start the motor at 60Hz and then go to the speed you want.
