Any experience about cast composite jaw crusher plates

This is thought come to me, may not be very original too. Is it possible to produce a high manganese jaw plate,with some ceramic cast insitu on the wear surface. This can perhaps improve the wear life of the part. These jaw plates are very heavy and I feel any improvement to the life will go a long way. Has anyone come across in their experience such composite cast parts especially for jaw crushers.
