I'm looking to develop an axial flow pump (not fan) and much of the available information is based on fans (and airfoils). I'm hoping that I can follow the fan principles for pump design too (liquid -vs- gas).
I do have one specific van question: should vane width at the tip be shorter than the base or vice versa? I see an awful lot of fan blades with wide tips, but have also found information claiming better efficiency with narrow tip. Any ideas?
