Hi,

I was wondering if any of you know of a reference where the buckling of conical, ellipsoidal, ... shells reinforced with strenghtening ribs under the influence of external pressure is covered.

Thank you in advance for any useful references

Strengthened cylinders and cones are well covered in ASME VIII. Ellipsoidal heads are covered, but not with stiffeners.

Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain also has some design equations dealing with stability of shells under external pressure.
