Several years ago Siemens promoted network simulation and protection coordination software SIMP. Demo version was included in the CD with Digsi software. I like the tool but at that moment it was impossible to convince my boss to buy a copy. Later on Siemens doesn't sell it anymore. Google search was not successful. Can somebody help me to find the manufacturer ? According to me it was some Austrian company, but I don't know the name.

Hi,
Are you talking about SIMPOW?

SIEMENS is having PSS/E software for system study.

Thanks

No, these products look much more professional than SIMP. I don't think Siemens uses SIMP for system study, but just offered it to smaller companies for relatively simple protection coordination studies.
What I liked was that software allows to insert relay protections with their characteristics, incl. polygons of distance relays. By inserting of short circuit somewhere on the lines or busbars you can see which relays operate and to decide about coordination. Not very complicated simulator, but for small companies like ours with relatively simple studies it was OK.

Thank you, ijl. SIGRADE was included (demo) in that CD also, but SIMP is different. Actually your programs are very interesting and SIMP looks much like ELPLEK. I downloaded it and will try to play with it in next week (I have something urgent to finish). Thank you very much again!
