All,

I have been searching the net for information on Yamaguchi vertical machining centers. So far, I have found almost nothing except a few for sale listings. What happened to the company, were they bought by someone or did they just fold altogether? Where can I find technical specs for the machines (overal length, width and height as well as weight? I am specifically looking for information about the YMV-60M. Also, are there pdf manuals available?

Thanks in advance,
Aaron

Looks like that's a fabrication shop. About the only info I can dig up is that the name of the company in Japan may have been Yamaguchi Ironworks, but any search of that name hasn't produced a company that builds/built CNC machines.

It's very likely they've been out of business for several years, but it's strange that I'm not able to dig anything up on them. Usually you can at least find where they were purchased or closed their doors or something.
The search continues....

Some of the people on PracticalMachinist.com might be able to help.

Thanks all for the replies. I have finally cracked the case. I found a machine shop that has a similar model machine. The maintenance guy was kind enough to send me an extra copy of the operation manual that they had. One of the pages listed Yamaguchi Machinery Co. Nagoya, Japan as well as Mechatron Corp Chicago, Il. With some investigation I found that Mechatron as a company is still in good standing according to the Illinois state website. The address listed there pointed me to Yasda Precision America. A phone call to them reveiled that they do still deal with the Yamaguchi machines even though Yamaguchi is no longer. He said some parts are available while others may not be and would have to be substited with available equivalents. So, at least I have a source to go to when needed. Sounded like I could get a copy of manuals from them as well.

For those who have a Yamaguchi and need to know where to go:
Yasda Precision America - 847-439-0201
Website: Link
Mechatron Corp - 847-439-0170
He said he could be reached via either number.

Regards,
Aaron
