Any software similar to GINT? 2

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a software similar to GINT that anyone could recommend.

Gint is now part of Bentley, for small/recently new firms, it is my understanding that GINT is not cost effective as instead of purchasing the software, firms are supposed to pay a monthly or annual fee to Bentley in order to use GINT. Again, for small firms, I understand this is a challenge.

Please advise.

Depends on what you want to use it for, typically test hole logs, and fence diagrams. The logs can be done in excel and fence diagrams in autocad.

I need it to create logs and boring profiles. I know in Gint they can be created automatically.

Using Excel / CAD would be more time consuming.

If you have AutoCAD Civil3D, it might be possible to create fence diagrams somewhat automagically with the Geotechnical Module. I don't know if ACADC3D has built-in support to import log data directly or if it needs to be input manually - I've never done it. I would imagine that there are LISP scripts that could do this.

gINT is first and foremost a database. They just also have built in some snazzy reports and calculation features. The initial cost is a bit steep ~$4k, but if you are producing logs on a regular basis, the maintenance cost seems not unreasonable ~$800/seat/year to build into your professional fees.

There are other packages with no ongoing maintenance charges and may not provide all the options that gINT does, but the initial costs appear similar to gINT Professional.
