Any standards on plug welds? 2

I have found information in AWS D1.1 (various paragraphs, see 'plug welds' in the index) that defines hole sizes, shapes and spacing as well as weld size but I do not know the background.

Doies anyone know of other International/National standards that provide guidance on design/execution of plug welds? Anything in ASME B&PV?
