Any way to copy bespoke views from model to model?

Hi Guys,

As the title says really; if you have a saved view in one part or assy (with perspective, say, and at exactly the right angle...) anyone know of a way to copy it to another part or assy for reuse?

Thanks, good suggestion; that's about the only thing I can think of that would work.

Couldn't you make a macro that simply jogs the part to the correct angle and turns the perspective view on?

Yeah, I could do if the views were 'jogged' simply with the mouse keys, but I've got lots of randomly-rotated views, all with different levels of perspective...

Thanks for the suggestion,

Sy

You can use a model with specific views as a presentation model for any part. Save it as custom_views.sldprt and use insert Part to bring in geometry from part you want views copied to and then use the same preset view.

Yeah, that's what I've done for new files; but was really looking to copy & paste views for drawing files already in existence, but it looks like I was a bit optimistic.

Thanks for the replies anyway
